About Us

Lauren, a free lance journalist, is the ox drover. After attending Tillers International Oxen Basics Classes, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Lauren has trained three teams of oxen to log, pull their 14 foot freight wagon, and the stone boat. You can see all of the wooden ox yokes the team outgrew in the oxen barn.

This year Dunroven's last team of oxen was sold and Lauren is now training their 17.2 hand dapple gray Percheron draft horse, Dancer, using Clinton Anderson's "DownUnder" method. You can see the complete training course including a round ring in the front pasture.

Dan will take interested guests out to the coal-fired forge, now equipped with a 1927 Little Giant Power Hammer, and they will make a project in iron to take home. For those who want to continue this hands-on history experience, Dan offers hourly classes with a list of other projects to make. Dragons are his specialty: both door handles and door knockers.
